The Danish Villages of Elk Horn and Kimballton, Iowa are the two largest rural Danish settlements in the United States. The Villages were lucky enough to have been highlighted in two documentaries by Danish filmmakers, Jakob Volver and Anders Birch in 2013 and 2014. The films were a huge success while airing on DR1 in Denmark. Elk Horn and Kimballton host an authentic windmill from Denmark, the Museum of Danish America, and a sculpture of The Little Mermaid. Velkommen to The Danish Villages and we hope you can visit us soon!
